Training: SB23-270 Projects to Restore Natural Stream Systems

  • 11 Dec 2023
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • via Zoom

Earlier this year, SB23-270 was passed that identifies what types of stream restoration projects do not cause material injury to a vested water right and are not an unnecessary dam or other obstruction. How might this affect land conservation organizations and agencies that work on stream restoration? The Co-Chairs of the Colorado Healthy Headwaters Working Group are providing training on SB23-270 Projects to Restore Natural Stream Systems for land trust, public agency, and other conservation organizations' staff who are interested in learning about what types of stream restoration projects fit within the SB23-270 Minor Restoration Activities. The session will also cover which types of projects may not, options on how to proceed in either case, other key legal language in the bill, guidelines to reduce the risk of potential conflicts for restoration projects, and different types of low-tech process based restoration (LTPBR) activities.

Register in advance for this meeting using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYpcempqz4sGdICDmuN111iWkpTayYxZvuE

There is space to submit any questions you have about conducting stream restoration activities and/or low-tech process based restoration (LTPBR). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
